South Coastal Bank is the wholly owned subsidiary of MountainOne Financial Partners MHC. We operate four full-service banking offices and six automated teller machines along the south shore of eastern Massachusetts in Rockland, Scituate, Quincy and Braintree. As a full-service bank, South Coastal Bank offers commercial, installment and mortgage loans; electronic and on-line banking services; telephone banking; consumer deposit products such as checking, savings, certificates of deposit and IRAs; and commercial deposit products including checking, savings, money market and sweep accounts.

A Brief History of South Coastal Bank

Established in 1868 in the eastern section of the town of Abington, Massachusetts the bank assumed the name of East Abington Savings Bank. With the incorporation of the Town of Rockland in 1874, the bank changed its name to Rockland Savings Bank by which it was known until September 2000 when the name was changed to South Coastal Bank. This most recent name change was made to better reflect our growing commitment to Massachusetts' south shore communities.

Since 1999 the bank has more than tripled in asset size from $75 million to over $225 million, added an experienced commercial lending and mortgage lending team, opened branches in Braintree and Quincy, developed approximately two dozen new products and services, and has formed a mutual bank holding company – South Coastal Holdings MHC, Inc. to assist us in taking on growth opportunities.

With a long history of community involvement, South Coastal Bank provides financial support to dozens of charitable organizations in the area. Our employees share this commitment and give generously of their time, volunteering hundreds of hours to help those less fortunate.
